SOP compliance remains very weak and pressure on hospitals is increasing, says Asad Umar
Islamabad: Federal Minister for Planning and Development, Asad Umar has said that compliance on coronavirus Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) remains very weak and pressue on hospitals in increasing due to influx of patients.
Taking to twitter, the federal minister wrote that officials have reviewed the situation of coronavirus in the meeting of National Command and Operations Center (NCOC).
He further wrote that administration has been asked to speed up compliance enforcement to avoid crises like situation.
“Reviewed situation of disease spread, fill up of hospitals & SOP compliance status in the NCOC meeting today. SOP compliance remains very weak & pressure on hospitals is increasing. Administration has been asked to ramp up compliance enforcement to avoid a crises like situation,” Asad Umar shared.

Pakistan is presently experiencing the third wave of coronavirus which is said to be deadlier and more contagious than the previous two waves.
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 4,584 cases of coronavirus were reported while 58 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 15,501.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 725,602. As many as 6, 34,835 patients have recovered from the disease with 4,201 critical cases.
In Punjab, the number of patients swelled to 250,459 in the province with 6,988 causalities.
