Fire brigade officials declared it a third-degree fire.


Karachi: Fire erupted in a 16-storey building near a nursery in Karachi's area Shahrah-e-Faisal, which has been brought under control, GNN reported.
According to the details, the fire of the building was brought under controlled with the help of more than 12 fire tenders, 2 snorkels, 2 water bowsers and several water tankers.
No casualties have been reported as yet as a result of the incident, however, one person sustained the injuries.
The flames of the 16-storey building named 'Portway Trade Centre' were seen from far away.
Fire brigade officials declared it a third-degree fire, and fire tenders were called from across the city to control the fire.
According to Chief Fire Officer Ishtiaq Ahmed, most of the offices were located in the commercial building.
Governor Sindh called for a report on the incident and said: “Whether the fire is an accident or a conspiracy, an investigation will be conducted”.
Assistant Commissioner Ferozeabad Karachi Umaima Solangi stated that the building was empty due to which there was no loss of life, however the action will be taken against the illegal signboards.
It is pertinent to note that the fire broke out at 10:10 in the night and as soon as the fire was reported, a fire tender was dispatched to the spot.
Along with the fire brigade, fire tenders of Pakistan Navy also took part in the fire extinguishing process.
A team of police and rangers also reached the spot, officials said, adding that a petrol pump adjacent to the fire-affected building was also closed.
