Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) Friday allowed markets and shops to remain operational till 1:00 am till Eid.
Earlier the markets were to be closed at 10:00 pm. Further hearing on the petition will be held on April 14.
Justice Shahid Karim of LHC heard the petitions for remedying the smog.
The court ordered immediate cases to be registered against the tree cutters and assured that the cutting of trees will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
It also ordered Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (WASA) to re-check the underground water level of Lahore.
