Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir praises the commitment and professionalism of the soldiers performing their duties at the border and appreciated the border security arrangements and operational preparedness.

Rawalpindi: General Syed Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), visited the western border with Afghanistan to celebrate Eidul Fitr with troops and boost their morale, according to a statement from Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday.
The COAS praised the commitment and professionalism of the soldiers performing their duties at the border and appreciated the border security arrangements and operational preparedness. Gen Asim emphasized the importance of border security and acknowledged the border fencing while noting that the armed forces stood ready to face any challenges.
The ISPR also stated that the COAS acknowledged the sacrifices of those who laid down their lives defending the motherland.
Meanwhile, the nation is observing Eidul Fitr on Saturday amid economic difficulties caused by record inflation, which has dampened the traditional fervor of the occasion. The day began with Eid prayers after Fajr prayer, with sermons and large gatherings. The ulema highlighted the importance and philosophy of Eidul Fitr in their sermons.
Besides it, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza and the services chiefs extended their greetings to the nation on the occasion of Eid ul Fitr.
