He expressed these remarks during his visit to Kot Lakhpat jai on Saturday.
The PM also extended Eid wishes to the inmates.
Shehbaz Sharif also suggested the need for a dedicated hospital and a transparent system for prisoners, and asked the chief secretary to prepare a proposal within a week. He also highlighted the importance of providing good food and learning facilities to inmates so that they can learn new skills.
During his visit, the Prime Minister also heard the problems of prisoners and directed the authorities concerned to address their grievances. The Prime Minister regretted the fact that despite the Holy Quran's emphasis on prisoners' rights, there was no one to address their problems.
