Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) Friday approved the bail of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan in the case of inciting the institutions to revolt.
According to details, Imran Khan argued in the petition that there are serious security threats that could lead to another murderous attack, therefore the court should grant interim bail itself instead of the trial court.
Chairman PTI's lawyer Faisal Chaudhry argued in the appeal, while during the hearing the court also dismissed the objections filed by the Registrar's Office on Imran Khan's application.
The court granted interim bail to Imran Khan till May 3 and ordered him to submit a surety bond of Rs100,000.
Imran Khan has a case of incitement to rebellion in the context of allegations against military authorities registered against him in the Ramna police station on the complaint of the magistrate.
His protective bail obtained from the Lahore High Court (LHC) had expired on April 26, on which he approached the Islamabad High Court.
Earlier today Imran Khan reached IHC along with a large convoy from Zaman Park Lahore.
Strict security arrangements were made in the court on the occasion of Imran Khan's appearance. The courtroom was vacated before his arrival and cleared by the bomb disposal squad.
The security monitoring of the High Court was also done through drone cameras.
