Internet services face disruption following Imran Khan’s arrest
The mobile internet services in several cities across Pakistan were suddenly disrupted, and popular social media websites such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube were blocked in many cities.

Lahore: Mobile internet services across Pakistan on Tuesday were disrupted following the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), causing distress among internet users and businesses.
The mobile internet services in several cities across Pakistan were suddenly disrupted, and popular social media websites such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube were blocked in many cities, adding to the frustration of internet users. The disruption of internet services in different cities of Pakistan has also made it difficult for people to carry out their daily activities.
The government decided to block internet services in response to the arrest of Imran Khan, which led to protests staged by PTI workers across the country. The protests resulted in clashes with the police, leaving several people injured and arrested. The PTI workers are demanding the release of Imran Khan and are calling for an end to what they see as political victimization by the NAB.
The government assured the public that the disruption of internet services is temporary and has been done to prevent any law and order situation that may arise due to the ongoing protests. However, this caused concerns among businesses that rely on the internet to carry out their day-to-day activities. Companies are now facing difficulties in communicating with their customers and suppliers, and some are even considering temporarily shutting down their operations.
Small business owners are particularly worried about the financial implications of this disruption and were urging the government to take immediate action to restore internet services.
The internet became an essential tool for businesses and individuals in Pakistan, and its sudden disruption caused widespread concerns. While the government cited security concerns, it was imperative that it took steps to ensure the continuity of essential services for the public and businesses. The restoration of mobile internet services across the country is the need of the hour, and the government must work quickly to address the situation.
