It is reported that Qureshi was arrested under section 3 of Maintenance of Public Order (3MPO).


Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi and senior party leader Fawad Chaudhary have been arrested.
According to details Shah Mehmood was arrested in the wee hours of Thursday from Gilgit Baltistan House in Islamabad.
Islamabad police tried to arrest Mehmood on Wednesday afternoon as well, but he could not be arrested.
However, PTI leader Shehbaz Gil has confirmed the arrest of Shah Mehmood Qureshi.

It is reported that Qureshi was arrested under section 3 of Maintenance of Public Order (3MPO), and is also nominated in recent arson and rioting cases in Islamabad and Punjab.
Before his arrest, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said in one of his messages that he did not do anything wrong, nor did he give any provocative statement.
He added that accusation of the Corps Commander Lahore incident against him is false.
Whereas Fawad was arrested under section 16 MPO on Wednesday night at 11:30pm when he got out of the building of Supreme Court after staying for 12 hours long to prevent arrest.
Speaking to the media before the arrest, Fawad Chaudhry said that the lawyers were so divided that the power of the lawyers was also lost.
“Today it also happened that I am being arrested in this way, the petitioner has never been arrested in this way,” said Fawad.
He stated that the arrest of PTI Chairman Imran Khan was also done within the premises of the court. His arrest created the division in Pakistan.
In the meanwhile, Fawad's brother advocate Faisal Chaudhry tried to meet Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Atta Bandial for which he also went to his house, but the matter could not be resolved.
PTI Chief Imran Khan, leader Asad Umar, former Punjab Governor Umar Sarfraz Cheema and Ali Zaidi have also been arrested.
