Raja Hattam Ur Rehman secured the 1st position, followed by Issam Bashir and Azaan Kashif in 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively, in the Under-14 category.


Lahore: The Chess Association of Punjab, in collaboration with the Chess Federation of Pakistan and with the association of the ‘Four Brothers Group of Companies’, has concluded its tournament. The event was successfully managed, with valuable assistance provided by the Sports Board Punjab and the University of the Punjab, who provided the venue.
In the Under-14 category, Raja Hattam Ur Rehman secured the 1st position, followed by Issam Bashir and Azaan Kashif in 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively. The winners received cash prizes, trophies, medals, and certificates. Mr. Rana Qayyum won the Above 60 category and was awarded a cash prize.
The event was held according to FIDE rules and had a Swiss system format of 15 minutes with 10 seconds increment on each move. The top 14 position holders from the Open category and top 5 from the Women category have qualified for the "Punjab Team" in the upcoming National Men & Women Chess Championship 2023.
The President CFP Hanif Qureshi, the General Secretary CFP Omer Khan, and the Finance Secretary CFP & General Secretary CAP Raja Gauhar Iqbal were highly praised for the event’s success.
The Chess Association of Punjab expressed their satisfaction with the successful completion of the event and thanked all participants, spectators, and sponsors for their support and contributions to the tournament's success.
