Rawalpindi: In a tragic incident, three soldiers were martyred in a terrorist attack on a checkpost established in Zarghoon, Marget area of Balochistan.
The attack occurred early Saturday morning, targeting a post that was recently set up to combat extortion efforts directed toward coal mines in the region.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a group of terrorists launched the attack, but the security forces stationed at the post swiftly retaliated, forcing the terrorists to retreat.
However, during the exchange of heavy gunfire, three soldiers lost their lives, while one terrorist was killed.
Following the attack, the security forces conducted an intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) effort to identify the likely hideout of the fleeing terrorists.
Based on the gathered information, a deliberate blocking and sanitization operation was launched in the nearby mountains.
