Maryam Nawaz expresses support for military courts for May 9 cases

Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Chief Organizer Maryam Nawaz expressed support for the military courts for hearing of the cases of the events took place on May 9 after the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.

Maryam said she is not the favor of transferring the cases to military courts but the civilian courts became tool of a political party.

“Now, what will be the fate of justice?,” she asked while addressing a gathering of Ulama-o-Mashaikh on Saturday.

The PML-N chief organizer said, “ I have not even spent three months in the provincial capital, yet I am responsible for managing everything. It is the responsibility of the party leaders to take action. Scholars can play an active role in the party; people listen to their words. They hold a significant position in society, and the country needs your active participation,”.

She stated, "Pakistan is our homeland; we have to stay in this very soil. The country is entangled in a conspiracy aimed at destroying Pakistan. It has damaged our nation, undermined our social values, and attacked our religion. Foreign funding has been provided to Imran Khan by enemy countries to strengthen its roots."

Maryam Nawaz said, “Imran Khan is responsible for the conspiracy and turmoil against Pakistan. She does not want religion to be used for politics. No crime is greater than using religion for political purposes and to incite opponents,”.

The PML-N chief organizer stated that Imran Khan used the name of religion throughout the world, adding that the JIT visited Zaman Park which was surrounded by black goats.

She said,  “Due to your oppression, people have endured humiliation. The sky is witnessing a movement today, not seeking revenge or injustice. No false cases were fabricated. When the court summons, they run,”.

Maryam was of the view that they used women for their own purposes, adding that his [Imran] children were in London while his wife was at home.  She stated that all those who were arrested were the ones Imran Khan used.

She stated that those who were supposed to receive political training were given terrorist training, alleging that there were terrorists hiding inside Zaman Park.  She claimed that the TTP wrote a letter saying that they supported him while the threats were made that if he is arrested again, it would happen for the second time.

Maryam Nawaz of the view that Imran Khan was condemning the burning of the country yesterday but such condemnation should lead to the accountability.
