Lahore: Pakistani singer Asim Azhar expressed his pleasure as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) utilized one of his songs in a video to demonstrate support for the female leaders and activists of the Imran Khan-led party.

Taking to Twitter, PTI Chairman Imran Khan shared a video featuring an edited version of Asim Azhar's song, which serves as the original soundtrack (OST) of the drama serial Sinf-e-Aahan (Women of Steel).

The video showcased clips of women participating in the protests on May 9, expressing their solidarity against the arrest of their party leader.

In his tweet, Imran Khan highlighted the resilience of Pakistani women and their significant contribution to the pursuit of true freedom (Haqeeqi Azadi). He emphasized that their courage would be etched into the nation's democratic history. Furthermore, he condemned the acts of brutality committed by security forces, acknowledging the mistreatment and humiliation endured by women during the protests. He vowed to remember and address the plight of those unjustly imprisoned under harsh conditions.

Asim Azhar graciously acknowledged the recognition from Imran Khan, expressing his honor to have his song shared by the esteemed leader. He conveyed that he had poured his heart and soul into writing and performing the song.

"It is an immense honor for me to have this song, which I wrote and sang, shared by the one and only Kaptaan @ImranKhanPTI, who dedicates it to all the women standing up for Pakistan," said Asim Azhar, who also played a role in the drama alongside Sajal Aly.

It is noteworthy that the drama serial Sinf-e-Aahan was produced in collaboration between the military's media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), and private production companies. The drama revolved around the inspiring stories of seven young women whose unwavering determination and passion to serve the country led them to join the Pakistan Army.
