The federal government sought army’s deployment in the country a month ago to address the law and order situation after the arrest of the PTI chairman.

Islamabad: The Punjab government and Islamabad administration have jointly requested the Ministry of Interior to recall the Pakistan Army troops, who were deployed a month ago to address the law and order situation that arose following the arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan on May 9.
According to a letter addressed to the Ministry of Interior by the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad, the situation in the capital is now deemed "satisfactory."
The letter stated, "The situation is now satisfactory in the ICT (Islamabad Capital Territory), and it is, therefore, requested that the requisition made in the referred letter may be de-notified in the best interest of the public."
Similarly, the Punjab government has also rescinded the order for the deployment of armed forces in the province.
In response to widespread protests across the country, which resulted in at least eight fatalities and numerous injuries, the military was called in on May 10 to assist in restoring deteriorating law and order in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad. The coalition government took measures such as suspending internet services and deploying army troops to maintain peace and stability.
