Karachi: In the recent development of the election for Mayor Karachi, Pakistan Peoples Party’s leader Murtaza Wahab is elected as Mayor for 4 years by gaining majority votes.

The election took place today where Murtaza Wahab and Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rahman of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) are competing.

According to unofficial results, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rahman of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) got 161 votes, and he was not present today at the polling station.

Voting was completed for PPP's nominee Murtaza Wahab for Mayor Karachi, after which voting was conducted for Jamaat-e-Islami's candidate Hafiz Naeemur Rehman.

The deadline for entering the polling hall was set until 10:30 AM.

Four counters were established outside the Arts Council for member identification.

Election Commissioner Sindh has emphasized the presence of police both inside and outside the polling stations, with the Returning Officer (RO) and District Returning Officer (DRO) holding magistrate powers.

Police officials have clarified that no individuals, other than the Election Commission staff, were permitted entry into any polling station.

The Election Commission will announce the results officially after the completion of signatures and lawful procedures.

Asif Ali Zardari and many other party members congratulated the new Mayor of Karachi.
