FM emphasizes nations to join hands to fight climate change and poverty


Islamabad: Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Friday emphasized the significance of dialogue and diplomacy in resolving pressing matters.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari highlighted the need for collaborative efforts among nations to tackle global challenges. He uttered these words during a ceremony to mark the 50th Foundation Day of the Institute of Strategic Studies in Islamabad.
The foreign minister urged countries to join forces in addressing issues such as climate change, poverty, and conflict resolution, with the ultimate goal of restoring peace. He stressed that dialogue and diplomacy must be employed to find resolutions for all outstanding matters.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed Pakistan’s desire to maintain positive relations with various countries, including China and India. He underlined the strategic partnership between Pakistan and China, exemplified by the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which stands as a flagship initiative symbolizing the enduring and time-honored friendship between the two nations.
Regarding the Kashmir dispute, the foreign minister urged the United Nations to fulfill its role in accordance with Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. He called for action from world powers against India’s unilateral, brutal, despotic, and illegal actions in the illegally occupied region of Jammu and Kashmir.
FM Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also highlighted the importance of the United Nations and other global powers in contributing to the development of Afghanistan. He urged the interim-Afghan government to respect international laws and engage in negotiations with all relevant stakeholders to restore peace in the country.
The foreign minister also acknowledged Pakistan’s positive relations with Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Moreover, he expressed Pakistan's stance of seeking a peaceful resolution to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, emphasizing the country's commitment to non-violent means of resolving the issue.
