However, the Federal Home Minister said that there was no positive response from the British High Commissioner in this regard.

A statement issued by the Interior Ministry said that the issues of mutual interest including Pak-UK relations were discussed during the meeting between British Ambassador to Pakistan and Home Minister Sheikh Rashid.

Sheikh Rashid also expressed grief over the death of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

According to the statement, the meeting also reviewed the progress on extradition agreements and agreed to complete extradition and repatriation agreements as soon as possible.

During the meeting, Interior Minister also asked the UK envoy for the possible return of Nawaz Sharif to Pakistan.

The Home Secretary and the British Ambassador agreed that extradition agreements were in the mutual interest of both countries and that progress on agreements as needed.

While raising concern about the UK placing Pakistan on the Red List, Home Minister said that putting Pakistan on the red list has created unrest among Pakistanis living in the UK. Corona is spreading more rapidly in other countries while enlisting Pakistan on the red list is a discriminatory step.

However, British High Commissioner believed that the issue of putting Pakistan on the red list was not biased as due to the high rate of COVID-19 cases, Pakistan was put on the red list.
