Karachi: Popular YouTuber Nadir Ali has issued an apology after facing backlash for a controversial interview with Pakistani Christian model Sunita Marshall.
Ali took to Instagram to clarify that his intention was not to cause harm and that his questions about Marshall's potential conversion to Islam were driven by curiosity rather than a desire to hurt anyone's feelings. He emphasized his respect for people of all beliefs and sincerely apologized if his words inadvertently caused offense.

During the podcast, Ali asked Marshall about her decision not to convert to Islam despite her husband and in-laws being Muslims. Marshall clarified that she faced no pressure from her husband or his family to change her religion. She acknowledged receiving comments on social media but stated that they did not affect her. Marshall emphasized that if someone chooses to change their religion, it should be a genuine and heartfelt decision, rather than an empty gesture.
Ali's insensitive questioning received widespread criticism, including from celebrities such as actor Nadia Afghan, who condemned his approach as disgraceful. Model Mathira also expressed disapproval and deemed the question highly inappropriate.
In response, Marshall requested her followers to refrain from harassing Ali and called for an end to the targeting of the interviewer.
