PMD alerts local authorities to take necessary precautions during the expected weather conditions.


Islamabad: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rainfall with thunder and lightning in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir, accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms.
In Islamabad today, there is a possibility of partly cloudy weather with chances of rainfall in some areas accompanied by thunder and lightning.
According to the department, there is a possibility of clouds and rain in Murree, Galyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, and Rawalpindi.
Similarly, cities like Mianwali, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Hafizabad, and Mandi Bahauddin are also expected to experience rainfall today.
Sialkot, Narowal, Bhakkar, Layyah, Lahore, and Gujranwala will also witness rainfall today.
Additionally, Gujarat, Sheikhupura, Multan, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, and DG Khan are included in the areas where rain is expected.
On the other hand, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Mala Kand, Mansehra, and Kohistan are expected to receive rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning.
Meanwhile, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Charsadda, Mardan, and Swabi may also experience strong winds and rainfall.
Nowshera, Bannu, D.I. Khan, Lakki Marwat, and Kohat can also expect rainfall with thunder and lightning.
In Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir, heavy winds and rainfall in Ziarat, Loralai, Zhob, Barkhan, Kohlu, Qalat, and Noshki may be possible.
Most areas of Sindh are likely to experience dusty winds in the afternoon. Coastal regions of Sindh, including Karachi, may also witness thunderstorms and heavy showers.
