‘Dil Ny Ye Kaha Dil Sy’ composer succumbed to COVID-19
Sharavan Rathod, 66, of Nadeem-Sharavan fame, died on Thursday due to Covid-19 at SL Raheja hospital in Mahim, Mumbai.

Sharavan Rathod was admitted to the hospital a few days after his return from Kumbh Mela. Sharavan’s son Sanjeeve Rathod, who is also Covid-19 positive, confirmed to Indian media that his father was in Haridwar city where a huge number of crowds gather to attend the Kumbh Mela.
“We had never thought our family would have to go through such tough times, my father passed away, I am COVID positive and so is my mother. My brother is also positive and is in home isolation, but since our father has died, he is being allowed to do the final procedures to do last rites for our father,” Sanjeev added.
The popularity of Nadeem-Sharavan duo was at the peak in the 90s era. The songs that their duo composed are evergreen and remain an inseparable part of that generation. Some of the chartbusters by the duo were; Dil Ny Ye Kaha Dil Sy – Dhadkan, Dheere Dheere Se – Aashiqui, Bahut Pyaar Karte Hain – Saajan, Bahut Pyaar Karte Hain – Saajan, Do Dil Mil Rahe Hain – Pardes, Aapke Pyaar Mein – Raaz, Nazar Ke Saamne – Aashiqui and a few more.
Amidst the brutal third wave of Covid-19 in India, the government of Haridwar is already facing immense criticism as millions descended to River Ganges to take a dip in the water. Over 300,000 pandemic cases were reported for the first time in a day soon after the festival was called off by the Modi Government.
The picture is still unclear that how many people were infected during the festival but the music industry has lost a legendary composer Sharavan Rathod after reportedly contracting the virus from the festival.
Bollywood celebrities, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Madhuri Dixit, AR Rahman, Sherya Ghoshal, paid tribute to the veteran music director, celebrities shared their condolences with the family and opined their views about the late music director on Twitter.
