According to International media, Israeli police say they have arrested more than 50 people since the clashes in Jerusalem last night, while 20 Israeli officials have been injured in the clashes.

The detainees were produced in court on Friday morning for remand.

As per available details, Clashes in two separate locations saw Israeli security forces confronting Palestinians protesting anti-Ramadan sanctions and anti-Arab extremist Jews.

Tensions in Jerusalem have risen sharply in recent days. Citizens are fearful of further deterioration due to increased security during Friday prayers. Clashes between Palestinian protesters and the Israeli police have been raging daily since the beginning of the month of Ramadan.

According to the Palestinian Red Crescent, out of 105 wounded 20 were hospitalized.

Israeli police say that three of the 20 injured policemen were taken to hospital.

The clashes erupted when police set up barricades outside the city's ancient Bab Damascus. At this place, Muslims traditionally gather after Iftar.

Hundreds of Palestinians hurled stones and bottles at Israeli police on Thursday night, prompting police to use water cannons and stun grenades to disperse them.

On the other hand, hundreds of protesters, led by an extremist Jewish group called Lahawa, marched on Bab Damascus, chanting "Get out of Arabia." The group's protest came after TikTok videos showed Palestinians slapping a Jew for no reason. In response, videos showed Jews torturing Arabs.

Police used metal barriers, water cannons, and stun grenades to stop the right-wing group from further marching. However, Police cavalry pushed the men back to the western part of Jerusalem.

Online videos also show similar small clashes in many other parts of the city.

The police statement did not say whether the detainees were Palestinians or Israelis.

The Palestinian presidency meanwhile condemned "the growing incitement by extremist far-right Israeli settler groups advocating for the killing of Arabs, which in recent days manifested in a wave of attacks against Palestinian civilians in the Old City."
