The court granted interim bail to the suspect till July 19 in 11 cases.


Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman's interim bail in 11 cases filed against him in the federal capital was extended by several courts in Islamabad on Monday till July 19.
Former Prime Minister of Pakistan was accused of two cases filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act in the Khanna police station and one in the Bahra Kahu police station.
The investigating officer stated in court that the suspect was involved in these investigations. The suspect tweeted the day of the incident, according to the prosecutor.
According to attorney Salman Safdar, the PTI chairman was charged with burning tyres. The Anti-Terrorism Act investigations for the three incidents were finished the day before.
Judge Abul Hasnat remarked that courts were not there only to grant bails. He further remarked, “If the suspect is innocent, justice should be dispensed. The investigation should be timely and comprehensive. We are here to save the country.”
The judge declared that no one was supported by the court. To achieve justice, the prosecution needs carry out a thorough investigation.
Further, the Anti-Terrorism Court of Islamabad extended the interim bail of the PTI chief in three instances till July 19.
However, in the sessions court in Islamabad, Additional Sessions Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra heard six cases against the PTI chairman and one case against his wife Bushra Bibi.
The judge asked the lawyer “will you advance final arguments today?” Lawyer Sher Afzal Marwat said he would give arguments but before that he wanted to attend the proceedings in the high court.
The judge intervened when the defense team attempted to remove the PTI chairman from the chamber. When was the PTI chairman granted a hearing date in other matters, the judge questioned.
The attorney stated that the next hearing date for other matters had been set for July 19. The PTI lawyer prayed for the couple and said, "Make us happy by giving the date of July 19."
Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra stated that if the suspect did not cooperate with the investigation, the judgment would be made at the next hearing date while extending the temporary release to the PTI chairman till July 19.
Separately, Additional Sessions Judge Farrukh Farid Baloch conducted hearing of the two cases registered against the PTI chairman in the Shahzad Town police station.
