The price of sugar has increased by 12 rupees per kilogram.


Karachi: During the past eight days in Karachi, the price of sugar has increased by Rs 12 per kilogram, adding to the burden of consumers.
According to the Sugar Dealers Association, in Lahore, the ex-mill price of sugar has reached Rs 130 per kilogram, while the wholesale price is Rs 133 per kilogram.
The Association states that in wholesale markets, a 50-kilogram bag of sugar now ranges from Rs 6,300 to Rs 6,500, while in the retail market, the price has soared from Rs 135 to Rs 140 per kilogram.
On the other hand, following the recent increase in milk prices, the sugar market has also experienced a significant surge.
In the capital city of Islamabad, the price of sugar has risen by Rs 12 per kilogram during the past eight days.
Furthermore, even in the federal capital of Islamabad, there has been an increase in the price of sugar.
