News anchor's video of pouring water on himself goes viral
Armin Wolf discussed the idea of pouring water on his head with the director.
Austria: Renowned media personality Armin Wolf surprised viewers by pouring water on his head during a news bulletin on TV.
The journalist associated with the TV channel 'ORF' poured water on his head when the temperature in Vienna was recorded at 37.2 degrees Celsius, possibly the highest in the city's history.
His intention behind this act was to draw attention to the need for precautionary measures against the intensity of the heat for their viewers.
During the bulletin, he picked up a bottle of water kept nearby and poured it over his head, drenching his jacket and shirt as well.
The seventy-year-old Wolf had read the news report himself, which mentioned that the first Saturday of July is the hottest day so far, with the United Nations expecting the temperature to exceed record levels.
The heatwave is predicted to have potentially devastating effects on the environment and marine systems. Afterward, he picked up the water bottle and poured it on his head.
Wolf later confessed that he had discussed the idea of pouring water on his head with the director beforehand. The director had advised him to be careful not to spill water on any devices.
