According to the notification, Pervaiz Elahi is the top leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), he may harm law and order.
Lahore: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Lahore detained Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi for one month under three Maintenance of Public Order (3 MPO).
Deputy Commissioner Lahore also issued a notification of one month detention during which he will remain in Camp Jail.
According to the notification, Pervaiz Elahi is the top leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), he may harm law and order.
The district intelligence committee and the police have already given their recommendations to the district government, the notification said.
It is pertinent to note that letter written by police to the Deputy Commissioner, it was said that during the investigation, it was revealed that Elahi could pose a threat to peace, so he should be allowed to be detained under the 3MPO.
Moreover earlier on July 11, the Banking Court of Lahore granted the post-arrest bail application of PTI President Pervaiz Elahi and ordered him to submit a surety bond of Rs0.5 million.
Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had registered a money laundering case against him, therefore he was arrested by FIA soon after his release from jail on June 26.
