Karachi: In view of rising Covid-19 cases, Sindh government has suspended inter-city public transport till 29th April.

According to details, Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah announced the suspension of inter-city public transport saying goods transport and industries will remain open in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Moreover, there will be a ban on indoor and outdoor dining with the exception allowed to delivery and takeaways.

Shopping centers will be allowed to operate until 6pm. However, government can consider shutting down all markets if Covid-19 infections continue to rise.

Earlier today, Sindh government Murtaza Wahab Monday announced that all schools, colleges and universities will remain closed in the province.

Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh on Law and Environment turned to twitter and wrote, “All Sindh government offices shall operate with an essential staff of 20% only.”

 As the country is battling a deadly third wave of novel coronavirus, the minister further stated that all schools, colleges & universities shall also remain closed due to the rising number of #COVID19 cases.

Pakistan witnessed slight decline in Covid-19 infections in a single day for the first time after a period of 10 days as 4,825 new positive cases were reported along with 70 deaths during last 24 hours.

According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 4,825 cases of coronavirus were reported while 70 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 17,187.

The total number of confirmed cases reached to 800,452.

As many as 694,046 patients have recovered from the disease with 4,862 critical cases.
