Federal Cabinet approves extension for army and rangers in security appointments.


Gilgit: Federal government has decided to extend the appointments of security agencies in Gilgit-Baltistan for one year.
The Pakistan Army's appointments in Gilgit-Baltistan have been extended until June 23, 2024.
The Gilgit-Baltistan government had requested an extension in appointments for internal security.
With the approval of the federal cabinet, the appointments of the Army, Rangers, GB Scouts, and FC will be extended.
Security deployments will cover important projects such as the CPEC and Karakoram Highway.
The appointments of Punjab Rangers in Gilgit-Baltistan will also be extended for one year. The extension in Rangers' appointments will be effective until October 2024.
Additionally, the appointments of Frontier Constabulary and Gilgit-Baltistan Scouts will be extended until June 30, 2024.
