If the moon will be visible on July 18, the day of Ashura is expected to be on Friday, July 28.


Quetta: The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet in Quetta today (Tuesday) evening for sighting the Crescent of Muharram-ul-Haram 1445 Hijri.
According to details, Chairman of the Committee Moulana Abdul Khabir Azad will preside over the meeting.
The meetings of Zonal and District Ruet-e-Hilal Committees will also be held at their respective Headquarters in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi and Peshawar in which the moon sighting of the month of Muharram 1445 Hijri will be decided at the same time.
According to the astronomers, the moon of 1445 Hijri has been born. The report of Climate Data Processing Center of the Department of Meteorology told that Muharram 1445 Hijri moon was born on July 17 at 11:32 pm, while Muharram moon is likely to be seen today on July 18, 29 Zil Hajj.
If the moon will be visible on July 18, the day of Ashura is expected to be on Friday, July 28. According to the report of Met Department, the sunset on July 18 is likely to be at 7:24 pm, while the moon may rise at 8:00 pm.
At the time of sunset, the age of the moon in Karachi will be 20 hours and 17 minutes. The moon sighting period of Muharram is 46 minutes after sunset, while the age of the moon is 19 hours.
