For K-Electric customers, the price of electricity per unit will increase by Rs2.33.


Islamabad: Electricity is likely to become more expensive for consumers across the country in terms of monthly fuel price adjustment.
According to details, K-Electric and Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) filed separate applications for fuel price adjustment with National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA). In case of approval, electricity consumers will pay additional charges for one month.
For K-Electric customers, the price of electricity per unit will increase by Rs2.33, while for the customers of government Distribution Companies (DISCOs), the price per unit will increase by Rs1.89.
NEPRA will hear the petition of K-Electric and CPPA on July 26. K-Electric consumers will be burdened with a burden of Rs4.38 billion while the consumers of DISCOs will suffer with more than Rs40 billion.
