Moonis Elahi declared as proclaimed offender in money laundering case

Lahore: District and Sessions court on Saturday declared former Federal Minister Chaudhary Moonis Elahi as a proclaimed offender in the money laundering case.  

The court passed the order after Chaudhary Moonis Elahi constantly remained absent from appearing before it in the said case.

Chaudhary Moonish had been facing two different cases; one about billions of rupees in money laundering and the other case was registered against him by the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE).  

The officials submitted a report [challan] under Section 173 of the Criminal Procedure Code (Cr. PC) in the court against three suspects including the PTI leader.

The court directed the officials concerned to submit details about the travel history and bank accounts of Moonis Elahi on the next date of the hearing.

The court also initiated the proceedings to confiscate the passport, ID card, bank accounts, and property of the PTI leader. The court summoned the details about his correct mailing address as mentioned in the passport and ID card.

Chaudhary Moonis Elahi, the son of PTI President and former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi. Currently, Moonis Elahi is out of the country and the latest reports suggested that last time he was in Spain.
