Dar vows to provide maximum support for improvement in PIA
The Finance Minister indicates full support for Aviation Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique's efforts aimed to improve PIA's performance and early resumption of PIA flights to Europe.
Islamabad: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has expressed the commitment to provide maximum support for improvement in Pakistan International Airlines.
He was talking to CEO of PIA Air Vice Marshal Muhammad Amir Hayat in Islamabad on Saturday.
The Finance Minister also indicated full support for Aviation Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique's efforts aimed to improve PIA's performance and early resumption of PIA flights to Europe.
Earlier, he clarified that no federal tax has been imposed or will be imposed on agricultural income.
In a tweet on Saturday, the Finance Minister said that he recently gave an explanatory statement in the National Assembly which was meant to dispel the impression that the government is imposing new taxes on the agriculture and construction sectors under the IMF. He said this explanatory statement is being misinterpreted.

He reiterated that the tax measures mentioned in the Letter of Intent are those that have already been imposed in the country till June 30, 2023. Apart from this, he said no new tax is being imposed.
