Colombo: Tayyab Tahir's explosive 108 off 71 balls and Sahibzada Farhan's clinical 65 off 62 balls propelled Pakistan Shaheens to an imposing total of 352-8 against India A in the ACC Men's Emerging Cup final at Paikiasothy Saravanamuttu (PSS) Stadium.
Batting first, the Shaheens' openers, Saim Ayub (59 off 51) and Sahibzada Farhan (65 off 62), set the stage with an impressive partnership of 121 runs in just 104 balls. Tayyab Tahir's superb innings, which included 12 boundaries and four sixes, further boosted the team's score.
Omair Yousuf (35 off 35) and Mubasir Khan (35 off 47) also made valuable contributions to solidify the Shaheens' position. Mohammad Wasim played a quick unbeaten 17 off 10 balls, while Sufiyan Muqeem remained not out on 4 off 8 balls.
Riyan Parag and Rajvardhan Hangargekar both claimed two wickets each for India A, with Harshit Rana, Manav Suthar, and Nishant Sindhu taking one wicket apiece. Abhishek Sharma and Yuvrajsinh Dodiya went wicketless in their bowling spells.
Despite some breakthroughs by the Indian bowlers, the Shaheens managed to build crucial partnerships and post a formidable total on the scoreboard.
