Islamabad: Pakistan on Wednesday recorded 201 coronavirus-linked fatalities, country’s highest single-day death toll since May 2020, as the country continued to deal with the third wave of Covid-19.

According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 5,292 cases of coronavirus were reported while 201 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 17,530.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 810,231.
As many as 704,494 patients have recovered from the disease with 5,214 critical cases.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 296,144 in the province with 8,224 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 280,356 in the province, while the death toll has reached 4,624.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 115,596 in the province with 3,201 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 21,945 confirmed cases while 233 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 16,779 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 468. On the other hand, there are 5,280 cases in GB with 105 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 74,131 cases in the capital city while 675 people have lost their lives.
