Islamabad: China’s Vice Premier, He Lifeng, arrived in Pakistan on Sunday evening on three day official visit.
For the ten-year anniversary of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), he will be in Pakistan from July 30 to August 1.
The visit is a part of ongoing high-level discussions and exchanges between the two countries, demonstrating the importance that both China and Pakistan attach to their "All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership."
He Lifeng, a member of the Politburo of the Communist Party's Central Committee, has been a key player in China's international economic ties and the Belt and Road Initiative's implementation, with CPEC serving as a flagship project.
The event will be attended by federal ministers, lawmakers from the National Assembly (NA) and Senate, secretaries and the business community.
He Lifeng, who served as Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission from 2017 to 2023, was an essential part of the design and execution of the CPEC projects in Pakistan, strengthening the bilateral economic relations.
Further, He Lifeng will have the chance to meet with President Dr. Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif while he is in Pakistan.
Meanwhile, He will also be the featured guest during a celebration of the "Decade of CPEC."
