Peshawar imposes section 144 for 14 days
The decision is made as local government elections are going to be held in the Mathura area of Peshawar.
Peshawar: As security concerns escalate and local government elections approach in the Mathra area of Peshawar, authorities have implemented Section 144 across various neighborhoods in the city.
The Peshawar district administration has imposed Section 144 for a period of 14 days, which restricts the display and carrying of weapons and the use of tinted vehicles, double-riding on motorcycles, and fake number plates.
Additionally, Afghan refugees have been directed to stay within their camps by the administration.
Anyone found violating Section 144 will be dealt with under Section 188 of the law.
It is noteworthy that local government elections are scheduled to take place in the Mathra area of Peshawar on August 6th.
