Pervez Elahi referred to NAB for physical remand
NAB has taken Chaudhry Pervez Elahi into custody over asset reference case charges.
Lahore: Accountability Court has approved the physical remand of former Punjab Chief Minister Pervez Elahi until August 21.
The Accountability court has handed Chaudhry Pervez Elahi over to National Accountability Bureau's (NAB) custody for a period of 6 days.
NAB arrested Chaudhry Pervez Elahi in an assets reference case just yesterday.
According to NAB sources, Chaudhry Pervez Elahi is accused of corruption worth Rs23 billion in 226 plots through frontmen in front of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA), with allegations of embezzling Rs1 billion and kickbacks in land deals.
Previously, after the completion of the remand period, former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi was released from Adiala Jail.
The jail authorities stated that Chaudhry Pervez Elahi was released upon completion of the remand period.
