Transporters increase fares after hike in petrol prices
The public transporters has decided to increase fares by Rs100 to Rs150.

Lahore: Following a massive hike in petrol and diesel prices, the public transporters has decided to increase fares by Rs100 to Rs150 on Wednesday.
Federation Chairman Asmatullah Niazi has stated that the daily increase in prices of petroleum products has destroyed their business, as the petrol price increase affects public transport as well.
According to Niazi, a notification of the revised rates is prepared and will be effective as of tomorrow following discussions with all transporters.
He added that there would be a Rs. 150 increase in the cost of public transportation to various locations.
Additionally, he asserted that when the price of petroleum products risen previously, the carriers had not raised their rates.
The official of the transport company claimed that the existing fare from Lahore to Rawalpindi, which is Rs2,550, will now be Rs2,650.
The current fare from Lahore to Peshawar is Rs3,200; it will rise to Rs3,350; and the current fare from Lahore to Faisalabad is Rs1,180; it will rise to Rs1,300.
In addition, the cost of a ticket from Lahore to Sargodha will rise from Rs. 1,250 to Rs. 1,375.
Currently, the cost of a ticket to go from Lahore to Bahawalpur is Rs2,500; when the rate increases, the cost would be Rs2,650.
