Paris: The world's first ever French fries championship is being held in France.
According to French media reports, the border town of Pas-de-Calais is hosting the world's first French Fries Championship at the Arras Grand Place festival area on October 7, Saturday.
The contestants will compete in the categories of “Innovative Potatoes”, “Authentic Potatoes” and “Fried Potato Sauce”.
According to reports, not only restaurants but also personal applications will be accepted to participate in the championship.
Media reports said that the applicant must be above 18 years of age. Also, only one person from a family can participate in the competition.
The reports also told that the jury of championship will consist of expert French fries chefs, while it is hoped that the competition will open opportunities in the world of gastronomy for the successful participants.
