Islamabad: A petition has been filed in the Human Rights Cell of the Supreme Court (SC), urging for a suo moto notice to be taken on the recent increase in petroleum product prices.
The petition was submitted to the Supreme Court by local lawyer Mudassir Chaudhry Advocate.
The petition highlights that with the rise in petroleum prices, inflation is pushing the impoverished towards extreme measures and the law grants every citizen the right to live with dignity.
The plea in the petition appeals to the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take suo moto notice of this matter, as the nation has hopes and expectations from the Chief Justice of Pakistan.
