Caretaker federal cabinet takes oath
President Dr Arif Alvi has administered oath to the caretaker federal cabinet members at the President’s house.
Islamabad: The members of Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar's interim government on Thursday took the oath of office for prominent positions amidst unprecedented political and economic difficulties
President Dr Arif Alvi has administered oath to the caretaker federal cabinet members at the President’s house.
The caretaker cabinet members include Jamal Shah, Umar Saif, Murtaza Solangi, Sarfraz Bugti, Jalil Abbas Jillani, Gohar Ijaz, Shamshad Akhtar, Shahid Ashraf Tarar, Aneeq Ahmed, Anwar Ali Haider, Dr Nadeem Jan, Muhammad Sami and Ahmed Irfan.
Furthermore, Dr Shamshad Akhtar has been named interim finance minister of the country while Murtaza Solangi will hold the portfolio of information minister.
Additionally, Jalil Abbas Jilani will take charge as foreign minister, Umar Saif as IT minister, Shahid Ashraf Tarar as communication minister and retired Lt Gen Ali Anwar Haider has been named defence minister.
Sarfraz Bugti has been sworn in as caretaker interior minister, Aniq Ahmad religious minister, Dr Nadeem Jan health minister while Ahmed Irfan Aslam will join the cabinet as law minister.
