Elections not possible in 90 days: ECP
The Election Commission of Pakistan has chosen to hold the future general election on the census of 2023.
Islamabad: The Election Commission Pakistan (ECP) has claimed that general elections in the country cannot be held in 90 days.
The chief election commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja presided over a meeting of the ECP when it was decided to undertake new delimitations throughout the Pakistan.
According to details, the Election Commission of Pakistan has chosen to hold the future general election on the census of 2023.
The commission must carry out the delimitation procedure, according to the ECP. The first publishing is expected on October 9, and the last one will appear on December 14.
The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) and the provincial governments will be consulted in the delimitation process, the ECP meeting determined.
The delimitation will take place nationwide from September 8 to October 7 when the administrative measures are finished on August 31.
Delimitation committees will be constituted on August 21 and the complaint regarding the delimitations can be submitted to the from October 10 to November 8. The ECP has allotted four months for the delimitation process.
However, the heads of all political parties have received a letter from the election commission. It has requested that the parties provide their account information for 2022–2023.
