Riyadh: The Saudi Arabian authorities have appointed an estimated 1,500 female workers to perform major duties at the Holy Ka’aba, serving and guiding female worshippers.

According to details, the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques has appointed female workers in its different departments.
Their major duty is to serve the females who come to visit and pray at the Holy Ka’aba.
Almost 600 women have been deployed in the Technical and Service Affairs Agency while rest of the staff has been recruited in other departments of the presidency including electric vehicles, Zamzam watering unit, guidance and intellectual affairs.
Some of the staff is engaged to perform their duties in administrative affairs, public relations, media and communication and the General Department of Internal Auditing.

Earlier in April, the Saudi Ministry of Interior introduced historic reforms, appointing female security officers for the first time at the Grand Mosque.
