Drugs recovered from Jaffar Express staff at Gujarat station
The spokesman told that four kg of hashish and two kg of opium were recovered from guard in-charge and assistant examiner electric of Jaffar Express.
Gujarat: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) recovered drugs from the possession of two crew members of Jaffar Express during an operation at Gujarat Railway Station.
According to the ANF spokesperson, intelligence reports of drug smuggling by train were received as a result of which trains checked at all major junctions were including Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Lahore, Karachi and Quetta and Gujarat.
The spokesman told that during the operation, the guard in-charge of Jaffar Express and the assistant examiner electric were searched, and four kg of hashish and two kg of opium were recovered from their official bag.
He added that the accused were trying to smuggle drugs from Rawalpindi to Jacobabad. After the incident, surveillance of all major junctions and trains has been tightened.
Both the accused are residents of Rawalpindi and a case has been registered against them, official stated.
