PPP will chalk out its strategy in light of ECP’s response on elections: Nayyar Bukhari
Sherry Rehman and Syed Murad Ali Shah say they want elections within 90 days under the Constitution.

Karachi: Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) leaders categorically said that the elections could not be delayed on the basis of delimitations.
“We want timely elections and it was also said in the CCI meeting,” said Sherry Rehman while addressing a press conference after Central Executive Committee in Karachi on Friday.
Sherry Rehman said that they would take up the matter of timey elections in the meeting with the Election Commission of Pakistan.
“The ECP has invited us to the meeting and we will discuss the elections with it,” said the PPP leader. The seats were not increased, so the elections should be delayed on the basis of the delimitations.
Sherry warned that there would be constitutional crisis if the elections were delayed beyond 90 days. She stated that the PPP was of the opinion that the polls would not be delayed.
Former Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that the ECP was bound to conduct the elections within next 90 days.
“The controversies including the delimitations cannot be a base for delay.
Nayyar Bukhari said that the Constitution is supreme and it’s violation could not be accepted.
“The PPP wants elections within net 90 days under the law,” said the PPP secretary general. He said that the PPP would submit its contention in light of Article 224 of the Constitution before the ECP in its meeting.
“We will make legal and political strategies on the basis of the ECP’s response,” said Bukhari.
