One killed, two hurt as underpass board falls in Karachi
The preliminary report told that drug addicts have cut the ends of the underpass, which led to the accident.
Karachi: One person has been killed while two sustained the injuries when a board fell from Mohsin Bhopali underpass in Nazimabad, area of Karachi.
According to a preliminary report by Director General (DG) Technical Services, three men were riding motorcycles when they met with an accident that killed a man, who was a laborer and father of four children.
The preliminary report told that drug addicts have cut the ends of the underpass, which led to the accident. Not only that, they have also stolen the motors for draining water from the underpasses.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Nazimabad said that the flow of traffic in the underpass was affected after the incident, however underpass has been opened for traffic by moving the signboard to one side.
Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab has issued instructions to Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) officers and staff to take strict action on the accident.
