In a move aimed at encouraging young couples to marry, an Eastern Chinese country has introduced a cash reward of 1,000 yuan (approximately 137 dollars) for newlyweds where the bride is 25 years old or younger.
According to international media reports, this initiative is intended to provide an incentive for youth to marry and address concerns arising from a declining birth rate.
Changshan County in China issued a notice last week regarding this matter, as reported by international media.
The notice highlights that it includes provisions for supporting married couples, offering educational assistance for their children, and ensuring their well-being.
As reported by international media, Chinese authorities are taking immediate action to boost the birth rate amid a decrease in population growth and a rising aging population.
These measures involve financial incentives and improved facilities for childcare.
