British envoy collects garbage from Margalla Hills on hiking

British High Commissioner, Christian Turner who passionately work to show the beauty of Pakistan to the world by regularly posting scenic photos on his Twitter, on Friday morning, posted pictures of collecting garbage from Margalla Hills in Islamabad.

British envoy while walking on the hills of Margalla posted images of gathering piles of litter during his morning trek on Margalla Hills in Islamabad on his Twitter handle while reminding people about their religious obligation.

He shared pictures of garbage and plastic bags which he collected and shared and requested Pakistanis not to spread dirt.

In his tweet, he quoted the hadith of the Muslim Prophet Muhammad PBUH of Islam, "Cleanliness is half faith," in a bid to make people of Pakistan realize the importance of cleanliness.

He addressed the attention of the DC Islamabad Hamza Shafqaat and Clean Green Initiative introduced by the government of Pakistan to keep the tourist attractions and spot clean in Pakistan. He directed the attention of the authorities towards the continuous problems of visitors polluting the Margalla Hills and improper collection and disposal of garbage.

Following the tweet of the British High Commissioner, the users urged to keep the natural landscapes of Islamabad clean and also appreciated the action of the Ambassador.

This is not the first time, Turner posted the photos to grab the attention of the authorities. On April 30, he posted a similar picture of collecting two bags of garbage on his morning walk on Margalla Hills in the federal capital.

The Office of Deputy Commissioner Islamabad said on Twitter, “Volunteering for cleanliness activity on Margalla Hills. Unfortunately, people leave their waste after Iftar in the forest area. @CTurnerFCDO highlighted the issue. Today we gathered our teams and helped the sanitation teams in keeping the forest areas clean.”
