Kandy: Indian cricket team Saturday won the toss against Pakistan in Asia Cup 2023 match and opted to bat first.

In this match played at Palikele Stadium, Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and invited the host team Pakistan to field.
On the occasion of the toss, captain Babar Azam said if we had won the toss, we would have batted too, adding that top teams are participating in the event.
While indian team captain Rohit Sharma stated: “We will increase the pressure on Pakistan by scoring well,” Indian team includes three fast bowlers and three spinners.
The Pakistani playing XI for this big match was announced last night according to which no changes have been made in the team, captain Babar Azam and vice-captain Shadab Khan are included in the playing XI.
Apart from this, Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Salman Ali Agha, Iftikhar Ahmed, Muhammad Rizwan, Muhammad Nawaz, Naseem Shah, Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf are part of the team.
It is pertinent to note that it was raining in Kandy before the match, which has now stopped and it is reported that there is no chance of rain during the match.
