Iraq: In a devastating traffic accident in Iraq, 18 individuals lost their lives, including Iranian pilgrims. The unfortunate incident occurred on a bustling road that connects two cities in the northern Salahuddin province of Iraq.
According to reports from international news agencies, rescue teams and ambulances swiftly arrived at the scene after receiving information about the accident.
They worked diligently to rescue both the deceased and the injured.
As a result of the accident, 18 people have tragically lost their lives, with most of them having connections to Iran.
Additionally, 13 individuals sustained injuries, and they have been taken to the hospital in critical condition.
A local official, under the condition of anonymity, revealed that one of the vehicles involved in the accident had a driver who did not survive, leading to the loss of 18 lives.
Every year, Iraq attracts millions of visitors, primarily for pilgrimage purposes, with a significant number having ties to Iran.
Over the past year, 2.6 million pilgrims from Iran alone have visited Iraq.
