Lahore: Commissioner Lahore Division has announced that there would be a complete lockdown in the provincial metropolis from today till May 16.

According to details, all markets in the provincial capital will remain closed from today, while medical stores, pharmacies and petrol pumps will remain open 24 hours.
The positivity ratio in Lahore was 11.33% while Punjab had positivity ratio of 11.33%.
Commissioner Lahore, Captain Usman has said that Lahore will observe complete lockdown from today and decision has been taken to control the spread of coronavirus. He further urged people to stay at homes and stay safe during the holidays of Eidul Fitr.
On the other hand, the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) hospitals in Lahore are running out of space as hospitals are dealing with influx of patients.
Pakistan is presently experiencing the third wave of coronavirus which is said to be deadlier and more contagious than previous two waves.
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 4,109 cases of coronavirus were reported while 120 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 18,797.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 854,240.
As many as 752,712 patients have recovered from the disease with 4,986 critical cases.
In Punjab, the number of patients swelled to 316,334 in the province with 8,951 causalities.
