Security plan for Imam Hussain’s Chehlam, Data Ganj Bakhsh’s Urs finalized
The IG added that Chehlam processions, Majalis, Urs celebrations will be continuously monitored with Safe City cameras and control rooms.
Lahore: Following the direction of Inspector General (IG) Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, the security plan has been finalized regarding the funeral processions and congregations of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and Urs of Data Ganj Bakhsh Ali Hajveri.
According to the spokesman of Punjab Police, more than 30,000 officers, officials and volunteers will perform their duties for the security of 677 Majalis and 378 processions in the provincial capital on the occasion of Chehlam.
More than 7,000 officers, officials and volunteers will be deployed for the security of 44 Majalis and 05 central funeral processions.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar directed to ensure security arrangements for all funeral processions and assemblies.
He stated that additional personnel should be appointed for the security of central and sensitive assemblies and processions.
Snipers shall be posted on the roofs of buildings in the routes of funeral processions.
Lady police officers and officials will carry out the duties of checking women in congregations and funeral processions.
The IG Punjab also ordered to ensure foolproof security arrangements on the occasion of annual Urs of Hazrat Usman Ali Hajveri known as Data Ganj Bakhsh.
Dr. Usman added that security Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of Hazrat Imam Hussain and Hazrat Usman Ali Hajveri should be implemented.
The community leaders, religious scholars, peace committees including all stakes for security arrangements for funeral processions and gatherings.
The IG added that Chehlam processions, Majalis, Urs celebrations will be continuously monitored using Safe City cameras and control rooms.
